To access query preferences dialog:
Tools > Preferences and select Queries
When this option is checked, whenever Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console is opened it will automatically prompt for a query using the same query tool you most recently used.
Automatically uses any custom synonym rings you have defined and broadens your search to include those terms. If not automatically employed for the entire query, synonyms may be activated on a word-by-word basis by using special symbols.
Automatically uses the predefined WordNet thesaurus for expanding searches.
When performing a query via the Concept Taxonomy, once a concept has been selected, allow the user to further refine the taxonomy entry by augmenting with AND or NOT operators.
When using the IN operator, display a pop-up showing the Named Sections currently available for searching in the selected index.
When performing a query from the Document Browser using the Exact Search or Hypertext Search functions, this option will make a second copy of Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console open when running the query. This means you can still access your original results as well as the new ones, at the same time.
When this option is checked, Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console will provide suggestions for words in queries that appear to be incorrectly spelt. These suggestions will be made when a query produces relatively few results and a word used in the query is similar to another word that has many more occurrences.
The availability of spelling suggestions is dependant upon the configuration of your Index Options.
When selected, each query you execute will open in a new tab.
If you have enabled de-duplication on your indexes, this option will exact hide duplicate documents from the result list.
Defines the scope of word tense expansion.
Broad incorporates as many tense forms as possible, which may include words with different meanings to the one being searched.
Narrow restricts the expansion to simple forms such as past tense and plurals.
Plurals will only search plural forms (i.e., it only adds -s or -es to the word) in the query.
Automatically performs word tense expansion (tense conflation) on words used in queries. If this option is not selected, then special symbols must be used in the query to indicate which words you wish to be tense expanded.
Clicking the Clear button erases your history of previous queries.
Specifies whether you want Perceptive Search to complete text when you type searches in the search box, based on searches you have typed previously.
This feature only applies to Menu Assisted, Command based and Web style queries, not to Natural Language queries.
Show a drop down list of previous searches that start the same with the same letter as you current query.
