Keystrokes

When adding Hyperactivity annotations to a document, you can specify certain keystrokes to be in effect when a user opens the annotation. Keystrokes are specified in the Hyperactivity Annotation window as outlined in the table below.

Non-alphanumeric/ASCII:

Type:To represent:
A, B, C etc Ordinary ASCII keyboard strokes.
{ENTER} Pressing the Enter key.
{SHIFT} Pressing the Shift key.
{CTRL} Pressing the Ctrl key.
{ALT} Pressing the Alt key.
{TAB} Pressing the Tab key.
{F1} ... {F12} Pressing one of the Function keys at the top of the keyboard.

The functions above can be combined with other keystrokes, separated by a - (dash or hyphen), For example {SHIFT-TAB}, {CTRL-F1} or {ALT-Z}.


Type:Function:
{PATH} Send the drive, path and filename of the current document, for example C:\DATA\LETTER.DOC.
{DISK} Sends the drive letter of the document, for example C .
{DIR} Sends the directory path of the document, for example \DATA\ .
{NAME} Sends the name of the document without its extension, for example LETTER.
{EXT} Sends the extension of the document, for example DOC .
{PAGE} Sends the page number of the currently opened document.
{LINENO} Sends the line number at the current place in the document.

Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console also lets you send Windows environment variables to the chosen program, for example:

Type:Function:
{UID} Sends the value of the currently logged on User ID to the nominated program.

You can also pass information to a word processor so it will search to the position of the hit in the document.

Type:Function:
{QUERY} Sends the full query expression to the word processor.
{QUERY1} Sends the first word of the query expression to the word processor.
