Start Page
The start page contains information about the selected index, statistics
from all your indexes and news from Perceptive Search. The start page is shown when you
first start Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console.
If the start page is now showing, you can get back to it at any time by selecting
View > Start Page

The start page contains the following information:
- Welcome Message
The welcome message contains an overview for new users, giving them the opportunity
to learn about the steps involved in getting a search up and running. You can hide/show
the welcome message by clicking the
or
button in the top right of the message. - Index Creation Links
You can use these links to get quick access to the New Index Wizard; or you can
select File > New Index from the menu.
- News
Contains news items retrieved from Perceptive Search. - Active Index
Contains information about the currently selected indexed, including: - Index Name - the name of the index as specified at index creation.
- Index Location - the folder where the index is located, click the name to open the
location in Windows Explorer.
- Index Type - indicates the type of index, may be Standard, Website or Browser Cache.
- Number of documents indexed
- Total number of words indexed
- Index created
- Index lasted updated
- Documents in Active Index

The Available Indexes section shows the statistics of the indexes in your catalog, including how long since the
index was updated and how many documents it contains.
