The Perceptive Search Start Center is a central navigation system that runs independently of Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console. It is responsible for running scheduled index maintenance tasks.
When activated, the Start Center places the icon in the Windows System Tray, making Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console available to you at all times.
When you install Perceptive Enterprise Search, the Perceptive Search Start Center is configured to open whenever Windows is started up. If you do not have the Start Center icon in your System Tray, you can activate it by selecting Start > Programs > Perceptive Enterprise Search > Perceptive Search Start Center.
