Settings that affect the use of annotations with this index.
If you have attached annotations to documents in your Perceptive Search indexes, you can define where to store the annotations.
This is the default option. Annotations will be stored in the same drive and folder as the documents being annotated.
Choose this option if you want your annotations stored in a different folder from the files being annotated.
If you want to store images associated with a document in the same folder as that document, check this box. Leaving this box blank will store images in the same folder as your annotations.
If you choose another drive to store your annotations, Perceptive Search will mirror the document's directory structure on that drive, creating directories as needed. For example, if your documents are stored on F:\WORK\DOCS and you have chosen to save your annotations to H:\ANNOTATE, then the annotation files will actually be saved in H:\ANNOTATE\WORK\DOCS.
Often, in a hyperlinked index, administrators may not want their users to start doing queries until they have some familiarity with the contents of the index. The master document feature caters for this requirement and in many instances may even replace the use of a Concept Tree. All you need to do is set up a document with all the links you want and declare it your master document. See the Using Annotations for information about hyperlinks.
The master document should be stored in your Perceptive Search index directory. The master document filename you type in must be exactly as it will appear in the Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console window. This name is then recorded in the ISYS.CFG file. Once a master document has been declared, a new menu option appears in the Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console program and a button is available for selection on the Main toolbar.
