Software Activation

When you install Perceptive Search, you must supply a valid license code. If you are evaluating Perceptive Enterprise Search, when you purchase Perceptive Search and obtain a full license code, this license code must also be activated.

Activation must occur within 14 days of entering the license code. You will receive warning messages during this period. If you do not activate the license code within this time, the software will stop functioning until you activate it. Activation can occur online, by fax, email or telephone.

For network installations, only one machine needs to activate the software, but the logged-in user must have 'read' and 'write' permissions to the shared Perceptive Search License folder on the server.

Activating my software

1. From the start menu, select Start > Programs > Perceptive Enterprise Search > License Manager
2. For a standalone licenses, change to the Local License Codes tab; for a multiple seat licenses, change to the Network License Codes tab
3. Select the license you wish to activate and click the Activate button
4. You will be presented with the different activation options, the quickest method is Internet Activation as your activation code will be sent immediately. Follow the prompts to activate the software and enter your code.
5. Click the OK button to update your licenses.
6. You will need to restart Perceptive Search applications.
