Command Line Parameters

You can force Perceptive Search Workgroup Web to open with a specific set of conditions, by specifying parameters on the command line. You should be familiar with using command line parameters before attempting this.

When using multiple parameters, separate each one with a space.

Perceptive Search Workgroup parameters (IQW.EXE)

IQW.exe [options]

/A tells Perceptive Search Workgroup to add new documents to the selected index, can be used with the /D parameter.
/C a Query-By-Concept to be initiated whenever an index is opened
/CX tells Perceptive Search Workgroup to open the Concept Tree at startup, with all branches expanded
/D=<path> tells Perceptive Search Workgroup to use a specific index. You can specify multiple indexes, separated by semicolon. For example: "C:\Program Files\ISYS\iqw.exe" /D="C:\ISYSEmail Registrations;C:\PDF Files\;C:\MSG Test\"
/DateAfter=<yymmdd> sets a session level file filter
/DateBefore=<yymmdd> sets a session level file filter
/L=<path\filename> tells Perceptive Search which log file to use to record the results of the index action.
/NameLike=<pattern> sets a session level file filter
/NameUnLike=<pattern> sets a session level file filter
/P tells Perceptive Search Workgroup to preview the update for the selected index, can be used with the /D and /L parameters. 
/PathContains=<string> sets a session level file filter
/PathOmits=<string> sets a session level file filter
/PURGE tells Perceptive Search Workgroup to purge the deleted items from the index.
/Q=<parameter> passes any query directly to the program on load
/QP causes a query prompt to be started. Will display whichever prompt is the default.
/R tells Perceptive Search Workgroup to reindex the selected index, can be used with the /D parameter.
/RECATEGORIZE tells Perceptive Search Workgroup to recreate the automatic category file for the index.
/REFRESHSEC tells Perceptive Search Workgroup to refresh the file security cache in the index.
/S open Perceptive Search Workgroup with the index selection dialog visible.
/SCT=<path\filename> use the specified query-by-concept file
/Swap=<path> Place Perceptive Search Workgroup working files in specified location.
/SYN=<path\filename> use the specified synonym file
/U tells Perceptive Search Workgroup to Update the index immediately. This is used in conjunction with the /D parameter.

Perceptive Search Indexer parameters (ISYSindexer.exe)

You can use the ISYSindexer to perform maintenance on your index, without starting Perceptive Search Workgroup. This can be useful to update indexes from with scripts or batch files.

ISYSindexer.exe index="PathToIndex" command="cmd"
