Perceptive Search will index MultiMate spreadsheet files, however there are a couple of things to note about this format:
MultiMate does not have a browse document function. This means that you have to open a document as if for an edit, even if you only want to view it. When you exit from the document, MultiMate will change the DOS date-time stamp on the document file as if you had edited the document. Perceptive Search will then Reindex the document as part of the next Update.
If you browse the MultiMate document through the Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console program, the date-time stamp is not changed.
Some software products which generate MultiMate documents, such as scanners, OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software and desktop publishing products, occasionally generate documents that Perceptive Search will not read correctly.
In this case, you need to rewrite the document file using MultiMate. This can easily be done by editing the document, pressing CTRL-F2 and repaginating the document. If you do not want to do this, configure the other software to write in a different format, such as ASCII.
