Spreadsheets

Perceptive Search can index and read spreadsheets and other foreign file formats. Unlike the word processor interfaces, the Spreadsheet interface only attempts to recognize words within the file and indexes labels and other text portions of non-word-processor files. In some cases noise or spurious characters appear near the start of the file when you browse.

Perceptive Search will only display the text contained within a spreadsheet. It is recommended that you use the activation feature to view the document in its native application, rather than use the Document Browser. Perceptive Search will use the File Manager associations to determine what application should be activated.
