Server Settings

To configure the Exchange server settings, go to “Indexing Services > Microsoft Exchange > [Server Name] > Service Settings”.

The following options are available:

Server

Indicates the location of the Exchange server, including the required protocol to access the server. Perceptive Enterprise Search defaults to HTTPS, however you can modify this value to specify HTTP if required.

Username/Password

Perceptive Enterprise Search will use these credentials to access the mailboxes of all users. This user must have read permissions to all required users mailboxes. If the user does not have permission, no content will be indexed for the user. Index attachment content Indicates that attachments to documents should also be added to the index. Each attachment will be indexed as a separate document. Setting this value will increase the index size, and the overall indexing time. The default is to use the settings of the indexing service.

Show attachment list in message

Outputs the list of attachments in the message body, this does not include the text of the attachment. Setting this value will increase indexing time. The default is to use the settings of the indexing service.

Maximum attachment size

Indicates the maximum size that an attachment can be to be indexed, any attachment larger than this will not be indexed. The default is to use the settings of the indexing service.

Exclusion Filters

Contains a list of filters, documents or folders that match any of these filters will not be indexed. The default is to use the settings of the indexing service.
