To configure the Exchange indexing service, go to “Indexing Services > Microsoft Exchange > Service Settings”. The following options are available:
Indicates the number of concurrent processing threads should run. The higher the number of threads, the more mailboxes processed concurrently, however it also increases load on the server.
The priority indicates how the indexing process cooperates with other processes on the system. A lower priority means the service will have a lesser impact on the system than a higher priority. The priority will also affect the amount of time required to index the mailboxes.
Indicates how much time should go by before a mailbox folder is rescanned for changes. Note that folders are queued for processing, so this value does not indicate that the folder will be scanned this frequently.
Indicates a forced delay between reprocessing a folder.
Specifies an optional proxy that sits between the Perceptive Enterprise Search Server and the Exchange Server.
Indicates a debugging log file that should be created by the indexing server.
Indicates that attachments to documents should also be added to the index. Each attachment will be indexed as a separate document. Setting this value will increase the index size, and the overall indexing time.
Outputs the list of attachments in the message body, this does not include the text of the attachment. Setting this value will increase indexing time.
Indicates the maximum size that an attachment can be to be indexed, any attachment larger than this will not be indexed.
Contains a list of filters, documents or folders that match any of these filters will not be indexed.
