The Twitter Social Explorer feature enables users to search tweets through Twitter's Search API. The top 5 tweets that match a search will be displayed in the Social Explorer.
To use the Twitter Social Explorer feature you must obtain an App key through Twitter. The link to create an app can be found here: https://dev.twitter.com/apps. If you are not signed up as a Developer, click on the "Sign up" button and follow the steps. When you are signed up, click on "Create a new application" button and follow the instructions on screen. No Callback URL is necessary.
Once your app is created, collect the Consumer key and Consumer secret from the OAuth settings of the application.
To complete the process navigate to Indexing Services in the Perceptive Enterprise Search Administration, choose Twitter, and fill in the Consumer key and the Consumer secret fields.
