SharePoint
Requirements
- Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 / Microsoft SharePointFoundation 2013
- Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 / Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 / Windows SharePoint Services 4.0
- Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 / Windows SharePoint Services 3.0
Configuration
To add a federated SharePoint search:
- Navigate the the Indexes page of the Perceptive Enterprise Search Administration Console.
- Click the New Index button on the toolbar.
- Select Federated Source and click Next.
- Select SharePoint from the list and click Next.
- Enter the URL to your SharePoint server, it should contain the protocol,
example:
http://sharepoint.myserver.com - You will now have the option of entering a username and password, they are note
mandatory.
- If you provide credentials, the search will always be executed as this user.
This can be more robust, but means that SharePoint security is not enforced.
- By omitting the credentials, the search will be executed as the searching user.
SharePoint security will be enforced, but you will need to enable security on the
Perceptive Enterprise Search website to have it challenge the user for their credentials.
Click Next.
- You will now be able to test your configuration, simply type in a search
expression you know to exist in the SharePoint server. If results are
shown, your connector has been correctly configured. Click Next.
- The last step is to provide a name for this connector, the name will be shown as
a selectable index.
- Click Finish to create the connector.
