RSS

RSS or "Really Simple Syndication" is a method of providing a list of web links and summaries to a supported RSS aggregator. Using this method, a user can monitor your website and receive notifications when new content arrives that matches a given search criteria.

Some web browsers have an RSS aggregator built-in, and will give a visual indication when they detect an RSS feed is present, such as or .

Enabling RSS

Perceptive Enterprise Search is pre-configured to allow a user to aggregate any search with RSS. You can enable and disable this option using the Perceptive Enterprise Search Administration Console.

Cache For

Perceptive Enterprise Search will cache an RSS result feed for a certain amount of time before re-executing the search. This ensures that common RSS feeds respond efficiently, without imposing a penalty on the system.
