What's New in Perceptive Enterprise Search 9.7
Document Language Detection
Perceptive Enterprise Search analyzes the text of the document during indexing and identifies the language that it is written in. The language will be injected as metadata in the ISYS_LANG field. The option must be enabled per-index, and can be enabled in the Index Options screen.
Multi Language Stemming
The Perceptive Enterprise Search engine now allows for stemming in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Russian. This can be enabled using the IW_LANGUAGE_PACK option in the search form.
Early Binding Security
The Perceptive Enterprise Search security model has been revamped to implement early binding security, this can improve the performance of searches where document level security is a requirement. See Document Level Security for details.
Introduction of Perceptive Enterprise Search Anywhere
The Perceptive Enterprise Search Anywhere component allows for user content to be indexed and stored on the server. The Anywhere feature then allows you to search both shared and personal data in a single search from both desktop and mobile devices.

Exchange Indexing
Index your user's exchange mailboxes from a central location. It is simply a matter of pointing Perceptive Enterprise Search at your exchange server and selecting the users. Perceptive Enterprise Search will automatically create and maintain an index for each of your users.

Best Bets
Best Bets are a hand-created list of key resources for common queries. This enables you to ensure that the documents you want at the top of the search results, are at the top of the search results.
Document Content Cache
Perceptive Enterprise Search adds support for caching document textual content in the index. This can greatly improve the performance when rendering the text of a document, especially when using document context in result pages.
Entity Detection
Entity detection identifies the key players of a document. The entities detected include People, Organizations, Locations, Email Address and Websites.
Federated Searching
Perceptive Enterprise Search Servers can be "federated" to search each other's remote indexes. Support is included for chaining (ie: searching together) local and remote indexes.
SharePoint Support
Perceptive Enterprise Search can now index SharePoint Servers directly, without need for a web spider.
Web Site Themes
Web site themes allow you to change the look and feel of a website with a single click. Perceptive Enterprise Search introduces 3 levels of theming, from the entire site, down to the result list and document view.

Perceptive Enterprise Search is now fully administrable from your web browser. The web server has been redesigned to run as a service with remote access to all configuration options.
Multiple search sites per server
The Perceptive Enterprise Search Server can handle running multiple websites from the one server. A single copy of Perceptive Enterprise Search can host many sites on the one server.
SSL encryption and on the fly compression
Perceptive Enterprise Search has extended its support for SSL encryption and content compression which can dramatically increase download speeds.
Improved IIS integration
Perceptive Enterprise Search can be set to run as its own web server or be seamlessly integrated with IIS.
User and group index permissions
Each index can now be configured to grant or deny access to given users and groups without the need to interact with the file system.
Multi-language and Unicode indexes
Perceptive Enterprise Search supports most Unicode aware document formats and languages. You can search across multiple languages at once, or break your content down into different language indexes.
Internet search engine query syntax
Perceptive Enterprise Search supports an Internet style query syntax that allows users to build their queries using common techniques, such as the + (plus), - (minus) and "phrase" operators.
Spelling tips and find similar
Perceptive Enterprise Search has a built in "Did you mean" function, which will automatically suggest alternate queries when a user's search produces too few, or no results.
On the fly document categorization
Perceptive Enterprise Search has on the fly document categorization that will automatically analyze your document set and build a set of optimal categories. The categorization can also be customized to handle your own rules.
Document summaries and metadata
The support for metadata had been greatly improved with Perceptive Enterprise Search 9. A document's metadata can be searched, sorted and presented in the result list.
Subscribed searches and RSS feeds
Subscribed searches allow a user to get a notification when new content is found that the user has not previously seen before, based on a registered query string.
VB Script, JavaScript and PHP template engines
The Perceptive Enterprise Search templates have been enhanced to support multiple script languages for customization. You can now embed VBScript, Javascript or PHP in the templates and web pages, to handle advanced customizations.
SOAP Server
Perceptive Enterprise Search has an integrated SOAP server to allow communication with the search engine via HTTP.
SearchTrends
Perceptive Enterprise Search has integrated advanced user and search tracking enabling you to find out what your users are searching for. Now you can more easily determine what results users are finding and what results users are not finding.
