You must have administrative privileges to install Audit Manager. In addition, you must use a database administrator login ID to perform the database operation. On successful installation, two databases named AcuoAuditRecord and AcuoAuditSetting are created on the SQL server. You can choose to install either of the databases or both, depending on your requirement. You can also create a record database from the Linked Databases page, while linking a database to the system.

To work with the files, navigate to the local directory where you stored the supporting files.

  1. Navigate to the folder where your local installation files are stored and select the appropriate file, such as AcuoAuditRepository.Db.Setup.x64_<version>.msi. Ensure that you use the file with the latest version number.
  2. Run the installer. The user credential used for accessing the database during installation must have proper privileges to run the installation scripts on the SQL server.
  3. In the Welcome to the Acuo Audit Repository Database Setup Wizard page, click Next.
  4. In the End-User License Agreement page, read the License Agreement, scroll down to the bottom of the agreement, select I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next.
  5. In the SQL instance and database information page, in the SQL Server box, provide the SQL server name where you want to install.
Note: The default value is set to (local). Modify the value to point towards the SQL server instance name present on your machine.
  6. In the SQL instance and database information page, in the Record Database box, provide the name of the record database.
  7. In the SQL instance and database information page, in the Settings Database box, provide the name of the record database.
  8. In the SQL instance and database information page, select the Create record database check box to create a new record database.
  9. In the SQL instance and database information page, select the Create settings database check box to create a new settings database and then click Next.
  10. In the Installation Wizard Completed page, click Finish.
Note: For successful installation, the Windows user must be able to log in to the SQL server with Windows Authentication and have sufficient privileges to create a database. On successful setup, two databases named AcuoAuditRecord and AcuoAuditSetting are created on the SQL server with some predefined tables. You can modify these names, if required. Only a single settings database exists per application installation and the value should be in sync with the value in registry after service installation.
Note: In case the service and the database components are installed in different systems, ensure that the service can communicate with the remote database via Windows Authentication.
Note: Since the installer does not have any update features, it is recommended to delete the database installer from the control panel after database is installed. This will not delete the database installed in the previous step.
