You can add an existing database to the list of linked databases or create a new database and then add it as a linked database.

To add a linked database, complete the following steps.

  1. In the Linked Databases page, click Add.
  2. In the Add linked database dialog box, perform the following actions.
    1. In the Server box, type the address of the server.
    2. In the Database box, type the a unique name for the database, based on the database naming convention.
    3. In the Name box, type the name of the database.
    4. To make this database the currently active, select the Active database check box.
      Note: If a database is not marked as active, it is considered to be an archived database.
    5. To create a new a database in a server with these settings, select Create database.
      Note: If the database is not created here, it will need to be created via installer before linking it to the system.
    6. Click SAVE.
