Alfresco CIC Connector consists of the following components:
Bulk Ingester
The Bulk Ingester is responsible for the initial ingestion of documents into Knowledge Discovery, and for recovering content that was not ingested during a period of downtime. It reads node metadata directly from the Alfresco database and publishes ingestion events to ActiveMQ for the Live Ingester to process.
Live Ingester
The Live Ingester is responsible for keeping the data in Knowledge Discovery up to date with day-to-day changes made in Content Services. It runs continuously, listening for repository events on ActiveMQ and processing them in real time as documents are created, updated, or deleted. It also processes the ingestion events published by the Bulk Ingester.
Nucleus User Sync
Nucleus User Sync periodically synchronises Alfresco users, groups, and group memberships with the Nucleus identity system. This enables Knowledge Discovery to understand user permissions and provide personalised search results based on what each user is permitted to access in Alfresco.
