Bulk Actions can assign holds only on files and not on folders.

To assign a hold using Bulk Actions, complete the following steps:

  2. Select Bulk Actions.
  3. Select Manage Legal Holds.
A warning appears, letting the user know that the action will change the legal hold status of the files in the search and not the folders. Select Continue.
  4. Select a hold under the Manage Existing Holds tab.
If you want to create a new hold, complete the following steps:
    1. Click on the Apply New Hold tab.
    2. Enter the Name, Description (optional) and Reason.
Note: The Name of the hold should be unique.
    3. Click on Save.
  5. The files are added to the hold.
