You can modify the connection string used for a control path as needed.  You can change either the OLE DB Provider or the authentication.  For example, you can allow the user the ability to update the password used to connect to the database.

To modify the current database connection for a control path:

  1. Select the Modify Current Database Connection for a Control Path option from the Choose Control Path Options screen.
  2. Click Next. The Modify Connection dialog box is displayed.
  3. Modify any or all of the following:
    • Select a different OLE DB provider from the OLE DB Provider drop-down list.
    • Modify the database authentication by selecting an option from the Logon to the server section.
    • Choose a control path you want to update from the Select Control Paths to update section.
  4. Click Test Connection to ensure that the connection string is valid.
  5. Click OK.
