Previously, ALM installation required a dedicated database user configured with a default database. However, in certain environments default databases are not preconfigured or shared database users are created. Therefore to provide greater flexibility, it is no longer necessary to have a specific database user for ALM. The single database user account can be used during ALM installation. This feature is optional.

However, you can still create new database user credentials.

To create a database user in an SQL environment, complete the following steps:

  1. Create a new empty database.
  2. Create a new user credential for logging on to the database server. The default database of the newly created user credentials must be mapped with the database created in Step 1.
Note: Under User Mapping, assign DB Owner role to the database user account.
