When working with Microsoft SQL Server, verify the following settings are in place:
- Go to and enable TCP/IP connections.
- Go to and enter the desired port for your SQL server instance. The value is usually 1433.
- Activate SQL Server authentication.
- Prepare a database account that ALM can use.Note: Previously, ALM installation required a dedicated database user configured with a default database. However, in certain environments default databases are not preconfigured or shared database users are created. Therefore to provide greater flexibility, it is no longer necessary to have a specific database user for ALM. The single database user account can be used during ALM installation. This feature is optional.
