ALM can be installed using the Interactive Installation wizard or the automated Silent Installer. This section describes the silent installation procedure for ALE Learnset Manager. For more information on standard interactive installation, see Standard Interactive Installation.

You can perform headless or an automated installation of ALM using the silent installer. This method uses a pre-configured properties file to execute the installation without manual intervention.

Note: LDAP authentication is not currently supported by the silent installer. Only internal authentication is available for this method.

Editing Rules & Validation Tips

  • Pick one DB: If database.type=MSSQL, fill only the MSSQL block. If ORACLE, fill only the Oracle block.
  • SID vs Service Name (Oracle): If both are provided, SID will be used; set only one to avoid confusion.
  • HTTPS: When server.enableHttps=True, ensure your environment is ready and the chosen server.port (default 8443) is open. If environment is not HTTPS enabled, please change server. enableHttps=False and corresponding server.port=8080.
  • Uncomment optional fields: Lines starting with # are comments. Remove # to activate a property (e.g., database.mssql.databaseName).

Running the Batch File (run_silent_installer.bat)

  1. Go to directory where the below mentioned files are present and open CMD by pointing to this directory.
    • run_silent_installer.bat (The execution script)

    • ALMSilentSetup.jar (The file that runs the installation silently)
  2. Run file → run_silent_installer.bat file to silently install ALM Application.
