The Transformation Service, or Transform Service, allows a client to transform content into different formats (for example, transform Word documents into PDFs) or to create renditions of the original (for example, thumbnails or previews). In addition, the Transform Service allows you to extract text from content for full-text searching, metatdata extraction, and metadata embedding.
