You can revoke a credential, if necessary.
Every credential stores some basic data, and that data can be used to revoke the related credential. Unless specified when created, an issued verifiable credential does not expire. Once signed, there is no way to modify the credential. However, there is a way to change the status of a credential through the credential status property, which points to a location where the current status is determined. Each credential issued contains a link to this location and a file depending on the type of status list that is implemented.
You must have the following data to revoke a credential:
- ID of the credential
- Revocation path, including file name
- Revocation index
For more informaiton on revoking a credential, see the Revoke Credential topic in the Hyland Credentials REST API documentation.
