This section describes how system administrators can create and configure solution configurations using Content Federation Service (CFS). CFS enables Hyland for Workday to connect to Hyland content repositories such as OnBase.

Note: Complete the instructions in this section only if you are using the OnBase content repository.

When using OnBase through Content Federation Services (CFS), documents are stored in OnBase. System configuration and solution configuration data are stored in the Hyland Content Innovation Cloud (CIC) repository. After a system administrator creates one or more system configurations, they can create multiple solution configurations for those system configurations – one for each system configuration.

Before you create solution configurations, either modify the existing Configure Hyland for Workday custom task or create a new custom task. Hyland recommends creating a separate OnBase-specific custom task instead of modifying an existing CIC-specific custom task.

For each system configuration, create a separate custom task and provide the system instance name as the systemInstanceName query parameter. For example, if two system configurations exist with instance names such as onbase_hcm and onbase_fin, create two custom tasks or modify existing custom tasks to connect to each system configuration.

Note:

Before you proceed, verify that you created a custom task to manage system configurations.

  • For specific instructions, see Creating a Custom Task to Manage System Configuration.
  • For general information about custom tasks, refer to Create Custom Tasks in the Extend Apps section of Workday's Developer Portal documentation. If you do not have access to the Workday Developer Portal, contact your Workday administrator.

To create solution configurations:

  1. Log on to the Workday Tenant.
    The Home page is displayed.
  2. In the search box, enter Edit Custom Task and press Enter.
The Tasks and Reports page is displayed.
  3. From the Tasks and Reports page, click Edit Custom Task.
The Edit Custom Task dialog box is displayed.
  4. In the Custom Task drop-down field, enter the name of the custom task. For example, Configure Hyland for Workday.
A list of existing custom tasks is displayed.
  5. Select a custom task you want to configure and click OK.
The Edit Custom Task page is displayed.
  6. In the Edit Custom Task page, modify the following information:
    Field Value
    Route Path

In the Route Path value, update the systemInstanceName query parameter to match the instance name you entered when creating the content platform instance.

For example, if your instance name is onbase_hcm, update the route path to: /businessObjectSelection?systemInstanceName=onbase_hcm

    Note:
    • For details on how to create a new content platform instance, see Creating a New Content Platform Instance.
    • Omitting the system-friendly name leads to the default CIC configuration experience, while appending it targets the OnBase endpoints or configuration.
  7. Click OK.
This enables connecting the solution configuration to the system configuration or content platform instance created earlier.
Note: To create and configure additional solutions, repeat the steps above to edit custom tasks and modify the Route Path value to include the instance name.
