This section describes how system administrators can create an external client credential store entry in Workday to enable the UCEB (Unified Content Enablement Backend) – a multi-tenant, cloud-based backend service. This service allows external apps, such as Hyland for Workday, to interact with Workday APIs. Create this external client credential store to enable Hyland for Workday to authenticate with the backend services used by the application.

To create an external client credential store entry in Workday for UCEB Service:

  1. Log in to the Workday Tenant with your credentials.
    The Home page is displayed.
  2. In the search box, enter Create External Client CredStore and press Enter.
    The Tasks and Reports page is displayed.
  3. From the Tasks and Reports page, click Create External Client CredStore.
    The Create External Client CredStore page is displayed.
  4. Enter the following information and click OK.
    Field Value
    App ID

    1. To locate the Application ID, open App Manager and locate the app you created or want to configure.

    2. Click Configure to open the Configure In-Tenant Application page and note the value for Reference ID.

    3. Enter this value for Application ID.
    Note: For more information on how to create an app in Workday, see the Extend Apps section in Workday's Developer Portal documentation. If you do not yet have access to the Workday Developer Portal, contact your Workday administrator.
    External Reference ID Enter wdx-on-bow.
    Note: This value cannot be changed.
    Auth Scheme for External Client Select OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code.
    Client ID

    To obtain the Client ID, see the Registering Hyland for Workday as an External Application for specific instructions. You must use the Application ID value.
    Client Secret

    To obtain the Client Secret, see the Registering Hyland for Workday as an External Application for specific instructions. You must obtain the Secret value and reset it.
    Authorization Endpoint Enter the Authorization Endpoint that corresponds to your region:
    • US: https://auth.app.hyland.com/idp/connect/authorize
    • EU/Global: https://auth.app.hyland.eu/idp/connect/authorize
    Token Endpoint Enter the Token Endpoint that corresponds to your region:
    • US: https://auth.app.hyland.com/idp/connect/token
    • EU/Global: https://auth.app.hyland.eu/idp/connect/token
    Scope wdx hxp hxp.integrations email hxpr hxps offline_access openid profile profile.attributes hxp.nucleus.account environment_authorization
    The details you entered are displayed on the Create External Client CredStore page.
  5. Verify the details and click Done.
