The Office Integration option enables you to archive Office documents directly from Microsoft (MS) Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Using the Office Integration affects the saving of a document. You have the option of not saving the document on the local hard drive, but rather of archiving it directly in the system. With Office Integration, you can only open and edit structured documents.

Using Office Integration, you can work in MS Office as usual. The system stores the documents with revision security and makes them automatically available to other users.

After starting the system and the respective MS Office application, the option is available in the installed clients. You can define different archival profiles for the different document types. You can then simply select them in the Office application.

In the archive configuration for a certain type of document, you can define various index criteria. For the index criteria, you can use constants, such as document type, or letter, properties of the document, such as the author of the document, or parts of the document, such as the contents of a specific Excel sheet cell.

You can execute queries from the Office application in the Saperion archive. You can find the documents you have created using Office Integration at any time in order to continue processing them.

The Office Integration is designed for sequential work with Saperion. It is possible to edit several documents simultaneously in MS Office, but the system can execute only one action at a time.
