An Automated Redaction Dictionary is a collection of one or more values (i.e., text strings, regular expressions, or Keyword Values) that are redacted from a document that undergoes Automated Redaction.

For example:

In juvenile court petitions, the juvenile's name and all social security numbers need to be redacted. A dictionary could be created to redact:

  • The Juvenile Name Keyword Value

  • A regular expression matching the Social Security Number format

Dictionaries are created and configured by an administrator. A Dictionary can be assigned to multiple Document Types. Likewise, multiple Dictionaries can be assigned to a Document Type.
