When naming ODBC connections in a server farm, it is considered a best practice to use the same names on each server. If naming conventions are identical between servers, the ODBC connection name displayed to users remains the same, regardless of which server in the server farm they are using to access OnBase.

The corresponding ODBC connections on each server in the server farm must be configured to access the same OnBase database. All servers in the server farm must be configured to access the same OnBase Disk Group locations.

The following is an example of a typical server farm configuration:

Diagram depicting 3 servers, referred to collectively as a Server Farm, with lines connecting them to a Database server and a Disk Groups server, and then 2 Client Workstations sharing a line that points to the Server Farm. This represents each server requiring a connection to the same Database and Disk Group locations in order for client workstations to access files from the connected server.
