In order for Application Enabler to copy the contents of a remote window hosting a text-based application, the client workstation running OnBase and Application Enabler must send a copy command through the remote session to the host application.
The command is configured as normal in the Application Enabler configuration properties, under the Clipboard tab. The corresponding mouse event that sends the command is configured under the General tab. (See the Application Enabler module reference guide for details on configuring the command and mouse event.)
The exact command configured must match the command in the host application used to copy the contents of the screen.
In a virtualization environment, the command is sent through the remote session to the host application and the results are sent back through the remote session to the client workstation's clipboard. Application Enabler then reads the information in the clipboard to retrieve the configured Document and Keyword Type data.
Due to the fact that the command to copy has to travel through the remote session and the contents of the screen have to be copied and then sent back to the local client workstation clipboard, it might be necessary to force Application Enabler to wait longer before it attempts to read the data from the clipboard. This Delay Time is configured in the Application Enabler Options under the Workstation tab. See the Application Enabler module reference guide for details on configuring the Delay Time.
