Full-Page OCR functions normally in a virtualization environment. To confirm that standard OCR and Auto-OCR from within OnBase function as expected, run the following test:

  1. Install Nuance on the Remote Desktop Server using the recommended installation method.
    Note:

Ensure that Nuance is installed to the default OCR folder and that this folder is installed in the same location as the OnBase executables.

  2. Create a Scan Queue in OnBase that is configured for OCR.
  3. Ensure the Document Type in OnBase to which you are scanning is set to Allow Multiple Renditions.
  4. Scan a batch from a client workstation.
  5. Right-click on the batch and select Perform Full-Page OCR Processing.
  6. The OCR engine is initialized.

If the OCR engine does not initialize, ensure TWAIN redirection and OCR settings for OnBase are properly configured. For more information on configuring OnBase for OCR, see the Document Imaging module reference guide.
