I have made changes in the OnBase Configuration module (e.g., created new scan queues, added new Document Types to existing scan queues, etc.) but the changes are not reflected in my HP device's user interface.

After a configuration change has been made to your OnBase solution, you must restart IIS, reset the OnBase Application Server's cache, or recycle the server's application pool in order for those changes to be reflected on your HP device.

Automatic scan queue processes are not being performed.

Automatic processes, such as Auto OCR Batches, Auto Commit Batches, Auto PDF Conversion, Auto-Perform Image Processing, and Auto-Run after Scan, are only initiated when batch activity (indexing, scanning, etc.) is performed in the OnBase Client module.

If batch activity is taking place outside the OnBase Client, and automation is needed, the desired processes must be performed on a workstation running the OnBase Client module with one or more Auto-Processing Command Line switch(es) or they must be scheduled to occur on a workstation running the OnBase Client module.

This does not apply to the Auto-Foldering and Auto-Naming options, as they take place on a document level rather than based on batch activity.

I have 10 HP devices that I would like to use to scan and upload documents to OnBase. Not all 10 HP devices will be scanning at the same time; can I purchase three Integration for HP Connect(Per Device) licenses and share them among my HP devices?

Yes, you can share Integration for HP Connect(Per Device) licenses among several HP devices, but be aware that these are workstation licenses and need to manually be managed from the OnBase client (i.e., in order to re-assign a license from one HP device to another, an administrator needs to manually revoke the license from the registered HP device using the OnBase Client's workstation registration feature to make it available to the unregistered HP device).

The licenses cannot be shared in a common pool and automatically assigned to the HP devices as needed.

As an alternative, you may purchase an Integration for HP Connect(Enterprise) license. With this license, no registration is necessary; all of your HP devices may be used to scan and upload documents to OnBase without each needing a separate license.

Can I use my older HP devices with the Integration for HP Connect?

In order to use an HP device with the Integration for HP Connect, it must be OXPd1.6 API-enabled and it must have network access to the OnBase-HP web server (which, in turn, must have network access to the OnBase Application Server).

For additional information about hardware requirements including information about your current HP devices' capabilities, contact your hardware provider.

My HP Connect for OnBase button displays on my HP device with a solid white background instead of a transparent one.

This issue is specific to certain HP device models (e.g., CM4540, M4555). To resolve the issue, use the alternate <lookAndFeelSpecificIcons> section in the DeviceConfiguration.xml file instead of the default <lookAndFeelSpecificIcons> section, save the file, and repeat the steps to configure the device to display the HP Connect for OnBase button.
