To scan and import documents to OnBase:

  1. From the HP device main menu page, tap the HP Connect for OnBase button. Depending on your configuration, one of the following occurs:
    • You are automatically logged on and the Integration for HP Connect is launched.

    • You are required to log on to the Integration for HP Connect using a proximity card.

    • You are required to log on by entering your user name and password on the Log On to Continue page.

  2. After logging on, one of the following occurs:
    • If only one scan queue is available for selection, it is automatically selected and the next page in the process is displayed.

    • If multiple scan queues are available for selection, the Select a scan queue page is displayed.

  3. If multiple scan queues are available for selection, select a scan queue by doing one of the following:
    • Scroll through the list of scan queues and select the scan queue to use.

    • In the Filter Scan Queues field, type part or all of the scan queue name to search for specific scan queues and select the scan queue to use.

      Note:

Click Clear to remove the filtered search results from the scan queue list.

Once a scan queue is selected, one of the following occurs:
    • If only one Document Type is available for selection, it is automatically selected and the Scan documents page is displayed.

    • If multiple Document Types are available for selection, the Select a document type page is displayed.

    Tip:

If the wrong scan queue was selected, on the Select a document type page, press Back to select a different scan queue.

  4. If multiple Document Types are available for selections, from the list of available Document Types, do one of the following:
    • Scroll through the list of Document Types and select the Document Type to use.

    • In the Filter Document Types field, type part or all of the Document Type name to search for specific Document Types, then select the Document Type to use.

      Note:

Click Clear to remove the filtered search results from the Document Type list.

The Scan documents page is displayed.
    Tip:

If the wrong Document Type was selected, on the Scan documents page, press Back to select a different Document Type.

  5. On the Scan documents page, index the document by entering Keyword Values in the corresponding Keyword Type fields.
    Tip:

If the wrong Keyword Values were entered, press Clear to remove all Keyword Value entries for each Keyword Type field.

All entered Keyword Values must be valid to successfully complete a scan. If you enter a Keyword Value in an invalid format (for example, when letters are entered for a numeric Keyword Type), an error message is displayed when you attempt to scan. For more information on the options available for specific Keyword Types, see Indexing Options.
    Note:

Depending on your configuration, indexing may not be available. Contact your system administrator for more information.

  6. To change scan format settings, press the More options drop-down arrow at the bottom of the Scan documents page. For more information on each of these format settings, see the documentation for your HP device.
  7. When you are ready to scan the document, place all pages of the document you want to scan into the HP scanning device and press Scan documents. Depending on the model of your HP device, you can either press the virtual scan button in the upper-left corner of the Scan documents page or the scan button located on the device itself.
Depending on the model of your HP device, a status page may be displayed that provides information about the document being scanned, such as color format, the current page number being scanned, image reduction/enlargement, or the file format of the image being scanned.
    Tip:

To cancel the current scanning job, press Cancel on the Scan documents page.

Once scanning is complete, the document is imported to OnBase and the Scan documents page is displayed.
  8. After scanning is complete, you can do one of the following from the Scan documents page:
    • Scan another document of the same Document Type into the current batch.

    • Scan another document of a different Document Type into the current batch, press Back to return to the Select document type page.

    • Press Finish to complete scanning documents for the current batch. The batch is closed and the Select a scan queue page is displayed.

    Note:

The current batch is automatically closed if the current Integration for HP Connect session times out.
