Patient Window URLs launched from Epic must include specific parameters in the query string. The following is an example of a Patient Window URL with the required parameters:

https://server/PatientWindow/Login.aspx?arg=j+mZV4vd67iEuI9kvMKcn9QitVDFpphKqGvYmmyzgXm2CUq4LjuOpHjkMVI8+6MbaT45ifFKczVv1GjPFz2GTJQChago2IUQ8SxdVE2iNHMgaj4Gj+ownDK02ySmxioRDblhaeket+XPUNeA94osXg%3D%3D&isembedded=true

The following query string parameters are used with Epic integrations:

  • The arg parameter specifies an encrypted value containing the following parameters, which are populated and encrypted by Epic. For more information about these parameters, see Epic Integration Parameters.

    • epicUserToken
    • epicPasswordToken
    • epicID
    • mpi or mrn
    • epicTimestamp
  • The isembedded parameter ensures Patient Window opens within the Epic application window. For more information about using this parameter, see Embedding Patient Window.

  • The epicFacilityID parameter applies only to deployments where the OnBase data source has a Facility ID or Facility Mapping configured for Epic. This setup is typically used when multiple OnBase repositories are integrated with a single Epic system. For more information about using the epicFacilityID parameter, see Setting a Facility ID on URLs for Epic.
