Replicated Disk Groups grants the ability to keep a copy of a Disk Group's data on a hosted storage server. The replicated copy can also be used for retrieval purposes if no on-site copy is available.

Replicated Disk Groups does so by connecting the local OnBase system to a hosted Cloud Server using a Cloud Replication Service. The following diagram illustrates the way the Cloud Replication Service connects the local OnBase system to the hosted Cloud Server:

This system enables the following benefits:

  • Off-site redundancy: A full copy of a Disk Group's data is maintained at the remote hosted data center.

  • Remote storage: Older volumes of a Disk Group can be deleted from on-site storage and kept only on the hosted Cloud Server, decreasing the amount of storage hardware that is required on-site.

  • Disaster recovery: Replication of a Disk Group can be part of a scheme to maintain business continuity in the event of an outage or any other disaster that might affect an on-site facility.
