The Web Application Management Console can be used to duplicate a Web Server or Application Server with another instance on the same Windows Server. The entire Application is copied along with the creation of a new Application Pool.

  1. Select Tools | Copy Application. The Copy Application dialog box is displayed.

    Note that both the Application Name and Application Pool names are appended with _Copy.

  2. Type new names in the Application Name and Application Pool fields.
  3. Click OK. Copies of the Application Name and Application Pool are created. The web.config file is displayed, allowing you to edit any of the configurations for the new copy.
