The assignment and management workflow allows users to add assignments either in Indexing/QA or Workflow. The following assignment use cases are supported:

| Indexing/QA Assignment | As documents are processed in Indexing/QA, users assign a physician acknowledgement. |
| Indexing/QA Flag for Assignment | As documents are processed in Indexing/QA, users may know a document requires physician acknowledgement but do not know who to assign it to. The user can flag the document for assignment by assigning a placeholder provider. |
| Rules based Flag for Assignment | Physician Acknowledgement rules can be configured to determine if a document should be routed to the assignment and completion life cycle for a user to assign and acknowledge. Rules may be based on one or a combination of factors, such as document type, department, or scan queue. |
