After installation, when Hyland Migrate is launched for the first time, you are prompted to create your first project and install a license.

To create the first project and install a license:

  1. From the Welcome window of Hyland Migrate, click Add a New Project.

  2. Enter a name for your project in the Project Name field and click Launch.
    Your first project is created, and the Add License dialog box is displayed, prompting you to add a license.
  3. Click the Copy button next to the Current Hardware ID to copy the ID to the clipboard.

  4. Send the Current Hardware ID number to your first line of support to obtain a license.
  5. Once you receive the license file, do one of the following:
    • Drag and drop the file onto the upload form.
    • Click the Upload button The upload button depicting an upward-facing arrow inside a blue square, browse to the location of the file, and select it.

  6. Ensure the license is valid and click Install License.
    Note: If the license is invalid, compare the Current Hardware ID number with the License valid for Hardware ID number and, if the numbers are not identical, contact your first line of support.
The Hyland Migrate license is installed, and the Welcome to your new project window is displayed. The project's name and the port number used by the project's backend service are displayed in the lower right corner.

Note: Once a project is initiated, a backend service is started and minimized by default, automatically saving all changes and logging every activity.
