You can manually enter specific Hyland Migrate syntax for a mapping to modify the value of an attribute.

To transform the mapping panel into a text area, the Advanced Mapping Input toggle must be switched on in the Mapping Settings. For more information on this option, see Configuring Advanced Mapping Settings.
Note: It is recommended that only users with a general understanding of mapping syntax and Hyland Migrate backend development practices use this functionality.

To manually enter syntax for a mapping:

  1. Navigate to the mapping element section of the selected attribute mapping.
    The mapping element section with the name of the attribute, mapping options, and the Advanced Mapping Input field
  2. To assign a static value to the attribute, enter text to be added as the static value in the Advanced Mapping Input field.
    For example, Claim Migration.
  3. To map the attribute's value to an existing attribute, in the Advanced Mapping Input field, enter @{ClaimNumber}, where ClaimNumber is the name of an attribute whose value determines the value of the attribute you are configuring.
  4. To transform the value of the attribute, in the Advanced Mapping Input field, enter @{XTransformer~Attribute}, where Transformer is the name of a transformer and Attribute is the name of an attribute whose value is transformed.
    If additional properties must be specified to configure a transformer, enter them after Attribute, separated by tildes (~). For example, @{XLeftPad~ClaimNumber~8~0}.
  5. To apply a set of conditions to the attribute, perform the following steps:
    1. Enter the following string in the Advanced Mapping Input field:
      @{XConditionalMapping~Attribute~OPERATOR^SearchString^Result}
    2. Replace Attribute with the name of an attribute that the condition should apply to.
    3. Optional: If needed, replace OPERATOR with one of the following operators:
      • EQUALS
      • NOT_EQUAL
      • CONTAINS
      • STARTS_WITH
      • ENDS_WITH
      • IS_BLANK
      • IS_NOT_BLANK
    4. Replace SearchString with a string to evaluate the condition against.
    5. Replace Result with a value to be applied when the attribute's value matches the condition.
    6. Enter true or false to specify whether the condition should be case-insensitive.
      For example, @{XConditionalMapping~Attribute~OPERATOR^SearchString^Result^true}.
    7. Optional: If needed, define additional conditions separated by tildes (~).
      For example, @{XConditionalMapping~Attribute~OPERATOR^SearchString^Result^true~OPERATOR^SearchString^Result^true}.
  6. Define the default behavior to process cases that do not match any specified condition by doing one of the following:
    • If you want to enter a default value for the selected attribute when no match is found, enter <DEFAULT>^^ValueToAdd^ at the end of the string and replace ValueToAdd with your default value.

      For example, @{XConditionalMapping~Attribute~OPERATOR^SearchString^Result^true~<DEFAULT>^^Last^}

    • If you want the value of the selected attribute to be the default one when no match is found, do not enter any value.
The changes are saved automatically, and the attribute mapping is configured.
