The advanced mapping settings allow you to manually enter mapping syntax and/or add multiple values to a single attribute.

To configure the advanced mapping settings:

  1. From the Mapping section, click the downward-facing arrow of the selected mapping to expand the mapping panel.
The mapping panel is expanded, displaying various mapping options.
  2. Click the gear icon.
The Mapping Settings dialog box is displayed.
The Mapping Settings dialog box with various options to configure a mapping
  3. To transform the mapping panel into a text area, allowing you to manually enter the specific Hyland Migrate syntax for the mapping, switch on the Advanced Mapping Input toggle.
Note: It is recommended that only users with a general understanding of mapping syntax and Hyland Migrate backend development practices use this functionality.

For more information on entering the mapping syntax, see Manually Entering Syntax for a Mapping.

  4. To transform the mapping panel into one that accommodates multiple values for a single attribute, switch on the Multi-value Attribute toggle.
  5. To change the data type of the mapping attribute, select a different data type under Target Data Type.
The following table describes the available options:
    Option Description
String A sequence of characters, for example: #Mint-Ice-Cream-4!

  6. To change the way blank values are processed, select a different option under Blank Value Behavior.
The following table describes the available options:
    Option Description
Leave Blank The attribute will remain on the migration object but will have a blank value.
Set to Null The attribute will remain on the migration object, but its value will be set to NULL.
Do Not Set The attribute will not be applied to the migration object.
  7. Once you configure all the options, click Close.
All the changes are saved and applied to the mapping.
