You can configure an attribute to derive its value directly from an existing attribute by configuring the Existing Attribute mapping element. This existing attribute can be defined in another menu section or mapping.

To map an attribute's value to the value of an existing attribute:

  1. From the Mapping section, click the downward-facing arrow next to the selected attribute.
The mapping panel is expanded, displaying the mapping element section with the plus button.
  2. Click the plus button to create a new mapping element.
The plus button in the mapping element section
A list of available mapping elements is displayed.
  3. Select Existing Attribute.
The Existing Attribute dialog box is displayed.
  4. From the Existing Field drop-down list, select an existing attribute whose value will determine the value of the attribute you are configuring.
For example, if you are configuring the DocTypeName attribute and there is the existing attribute DocType, then selecting DocType from the list ensures that the value of DocTypeName will match the value of DocType.
Note: All fields entered in the Queue Populator Query field of the Queue menu item can be selected from this list.
  5. Click OK.
The Existing Attribute mapping element is created and displayed in the mapping elements list. The configured attribute will derive its value directly from the attribute selected from the Existing Field list.

To preview this mapping, click the Preview button The Preview button depicting an eye inside a square. For more information on previewing mappings, see Previewing Mappings.
