You can transform the value of an existing attribute using a library of preconfigured transformers by configuring the Transformer mapping element.

1. From the Mapping section, click the downward-facing arrow next to the selected attribute.
   The mapping panel is expanded, displaying the mapping elements list with the plus button.
2. Click the plus button to create a new mapping element.
   
   A list of available mapping elements is displayed.
3. Select Transformer.
   The Transformer dialog box is displayed.
4. From the Transformer Type drop-down list, select a transformer type.
   Tip: You can hover your pointer over a transformer type to see a tooltip briefly describing it.
5. Complete all required fields to configure the transformer type.
   The fields vary depending on the transformer type you have selected. For more information on configuring transformer type fields, see Examples of Configuring Transformer Types.

   Tip: Hover your pointer over a field to see its description.

   For example, if you have selected the Remove String transformer type and you want to remove the dt_ string from the dt_file_type_name attribute's name, the fields must be filled in the following way:

   
6. Switch on the Case Insensitive Search toggle if you want the search to be case insensitive.
7. Click OK.
