An admin can perform the following for iOS and Android devices :

  • Install Hyland Mobile for users with MDM enrolled devices
  • Configure Hyland Mobile to:
    • Install an application (OnBase Mobile, Perceptive Experience and so on)
    • Remove an application
    • Set a default application
    • Specify camera resolution settings
      • Actual, Large, Medium, Small
    • Allow or disallow users to install a new application

To manage Hyland Mobile, admins can push a configuration policy containing key-value pairs through MDM.

The names of the keys, the data type of the possible values of those keys and the constraints imposed on the values are described in the following table:

Configuration Key Value Type Descriptions
install_server_urls String
  • One or a list of valid http/https URL(s) of the hosted applications(s).
  • The URLs should be separated by comma (,) For example: https://customer.hylandcloud.com/mobile, https://customer.domain.com/onbasemobile
remove_app_ids String
  • Must be separated by comma (,) For example: appID1,appID2
  • These application IDs must match with the one mentioned in mobileconfig.json of any application to be removed from Hyland Mobile. For example : OnBase Mobile.

  • Value all removes all applications ( both managed and unmanaged present in Hyland Mobile without explicitly specifying the application IDs).

  • These values are case-sensitive.

default_app_id String
  • This takes only one application ID and the application corresponding to that application ID will be set as Default App.
  • Add reset to this field to remove any previously set default application setting.
camera_settings_resolution String
  • Camera resolution settings to be applied to installed applications.
  • Possible values : Actual, Large, Medium, Small
  • User can change these settings from Camera. But, those changes will not be saved.
  • Add reset to this field to remove the Camera setting.
allow_user_to_install_app String
  • Possible values: True or False
  • True value allows the users to install applications.
  • False value disallows the users to install applications.
  • The key is treated valid only when an application is already installed in Hyland Mobile or if an application is pushed with a valid install_server_url. Otherwise, the key is overlooked and does not impact the installation permission.
  • The default value is False if admins do not explicitly mention this key while pushing a configuration.

In Microsoft Intune, the configuration keys are added by Admins as shown here:

When the configuration settings are applied to Hyland Mobile, users can view the following screen :

Note: Hyland Mobile remembers and applies the last processed configuration.

This screen appears when the Home screen of Hyland Mobile is displayed. If a user is using Hyland Mobile when the configuration is pushed, the configuration settings will be applied when the user relaunches Hyland Mobile or returns to the Home screen.
