Before configuring the Hyland for Workday HCM component settings, create four Identity and Access Management (IAM) clients in the Hyland Identity and Access Management application.

Each client authenticates a specific component in the Hyland for Workday HCM architecture. The following table lists each required client, the component that uses it, and its purpose.

Note: Hyland Identity and Access Management Services was called Hyland Identity Provider (IdP) in versions earlier than 5.0. In version 5.0 and later, it is called Hyland Identity Service ( IdS).
Client Component Description
Workday Extend External Client CredStore (Workday Extend app) Authenticates users
PKCE Grant HCMIS-BE application Protects the HCMIS-BE APIs and provides backend API authentication and token exchange.
Quick Access Quick Access Viewer application Authenticates users on the Quick Access Viewer web application.
Hyland Configuration Service ConfigProviderHostSolution Authenticates requests to the Backend Configuration Service.
Note: Before you create and configure all four clients, verify that your Hyland Identity Provider (IdP) or Identity Service (IdS) instance is accessible and that you have administrative permissions to create clients.
