This section has information on adding the HCMIS-BE service to IIS Manager. To add the HCMIS-BE service to IIS Manager, you must first obtain the file containing the HCMIS-BE service and then add it to the IIS Manager.

Before you begin, obtain the HCMIS-BE service and all other relevant artifacts, typically available as an archive package (delivered as a .nupkg file) and extract the contents of the package. For specific instructions on obtaining this package, see Obtaining the HCMIS-BE Service.

To add the HCMIS-BE service to IIS Manager:

  1. Navigate to the location where you extracted the contents of the onbase-build.zip file.
  2. From the Start menu, open Turn windows features on or off.
  3. Under Internet Information Services, select World Wide Web Services and then select Application Initialization.
  4. Click OK.
Note: Applications are not started by default when the IIS Manager is started. However, IIS Manager can be configured so that services are executed as soon as it starts. To load critical data required while the HCMIS-BE service is started, you must apply custom settings to the HCMIS-BE service in IIS Manager.
  5. Open IIS Manager.
  6. From Connections, under Sites, select the site to which you want to add the HCMIS-BE service.
  7. Right-click the site you have selected and then select Add Application.
The Add Application dialog box is displayed.
  8. In the Alias field, enter hcmisbe.
  9. Click Select.
The Select Application Pool dialog box is displayed.
  10. From the Application pool drop-down, select the name of the Application Pool you created for HCMIS-BE and click OK.
Note: If you have not yet created an Application Pool for HCMIS-BE, please complete the instructions under Creating an IIS Application and Application Pool.
  11. In the Physical path field, enter the full path to the location where you extracted the onbase-build file or select the folder from the drop-down list.
Note: In a typical installation, this file is in Downloads.
  12. Select the Enable Preload checkbox and click OK.
  13. From the Application Pools section in IIS Manager, right-click the Application Pool you created for HCMIS-BE and click Advanced Settings.
The Advanced Settings dialog box is displayed.
  14. From the Advanced Settings dialog box, select the following options:

  • Select Start Mode and then select Always Running.
  • Select Idle Time-out (minutes) and then select 0.
  1. Recycle the HCMIS-BE Application Pool that you created for HCMIS-BE.
