Configuration of federated logouts from a configured SAML2 provider can be initiated through the Hyland IdS appsettings.json file.

When configured, federated logouts are initiated from the SAML2 provider when logging out of Hyland IdS.

The following considerations are essential when enabling federated logouts:

  • When the settings are enabled, the Single Logout (SLO) URL is added to the Hyland IdS metadata, which is needed for external SAML provider configuration.
  • To generate the SLO URL, a signing certificate must be configured on the IdS provider.

To enable or disable federated logouts:

  1. Open the appsettings.json file of Hyland IdS in a plain-text editor. In a default installation, this file is located at C:\Program Files\Hyland\identityservice\config
  2. In the Features block, set TriggerExternalSignOut to true to enable federated logouts from the SAML2 provider, or set it to false to disable federated logouts.
  3. Save and close the appsettings.json file.
  4. Recycle the application pool of Hyland IdS for the changes to take effect.
