You can import a supported file and add it as a document to OnBase Integration for Salesforce in the context of an existing custom or standard Salesforce object's record. When you import a supported file, this process indexes a file and creates a new document with one or more pages. You can do one of the following:

  • browse to a file location on your mobile device and select a file to import
  • capture a new image from the mobile device's camera

Once you provide the necessary information required to provide context to the files (keyword values or metadata), you can import the document into OnBase.

To import a document:

  1. Log on to the Salesforce mobile app and navigate to the Salesforce record detail page where OnBase Integration for Salesforce has been added.
  2. From the app, navigate to the section where OnBase Integration for Salesforce has been added.
  3. In the document list window, tap Import.
  4. To import files, you can select one or more files from your mobile device and select them for importing.
  5. From the Capture window that opens, tap Upload to start importing documents.
  6. To add more files to the import, from the Import one or more files window, tap Add files.
    Note:
    • On Android, the file browser allows selecting only one document at a time.
    • Single Document Import mode imports files as documents with multiple pages while Multiple Document Import mode imports each file as one document.
    Tip:

To add multiple image files as different pages to a document and import them, on the Import one or more files window, tap the Single Document Import mode slider. This slider is automatically enabled if you are importing image files, else the slider appears disabled.

  7. In the document import window, on the right-hand pane, enter the keyword values (or metadata) associated with a document by modifying the fields as required. These keywords and their values provide context to the content in the files that you have imported.
Note: You can modify a field or change keyword values based on configuration changes made in OnBase. These changes are typically made by your system administrator. Please contact your system administrator if you require help with configuring OnBase.
  8. After you have modified the fields, in the document capture window, tap Upload.
    The files are imported.
Note: If you are not allowed to import a file, the Upload button appears disabled.
