ModLink 26.1.1 (September 2026)
Features
There are no new or updated features in this release.
Updates
This release provides the following updates.
- Resolved an issue in ModLink 26.1 where an extra field in the installer SQL setup phase obscured the Login ID field. The hidden field prevented users from viewing or modifying the actual Login ID. The installer has been updated, and the SQL configuration fields are now accessible and configurable. (PACS-5562)
-
Resolved an issue in ModLink 3.0.3 and ModLink 26.1 where ingesting GE SRs containing 16-digit accession numbers and backslashes in XML data resulted in an "index out of range" error. ModLink 26.1.1 now parses the XML data successfully. (PACS-5509)
ModLink 26.1 (June 2026)
Features
This release provides the following features.
- Added a Restart Service button to the dashboard, along with server status and Rawcap status labels. (PACS-5288)
- Added a Rawcap Active indicator to the ports header in the dashboard when Rawcap is enabled. (PACS-4906)
- Updated the installer to use a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) instead of an IP address. (PACS-4967)
- Updated the Download function to export only selected items. Added a checkbox to select all templates. (PACS-4899)
- Updated Save and Close functionality to a single button. (PACS-4910)
- Added support for sorting the Last Receive column on the Dashboard in both ascending and descending order, aligning it with other sortable columns. Previously, the column could only sort from the oldest to the newest. (PACS-4630)
- Added support for filtering Custom Field drop-down values when configuring templates and custom fields. Users can now enter a filter value to limit the list to Custom Fields that match the specified criteria. (PACS-4864)
- Removed support for automatic report generation and email functionality previously available in ModLink 3.3, beginning with ModLink 25.1. (PACS-4010)
- Added back support for the Verify function in Custom Fields for validating data from the associated PS360 system. This functionality was available in ModLink 3.x and removed in ModLink 25.x. (PACS-4007)
- Added support for additional unit abbreviations wherever units are displayed. The following abbreviations have been added in response to user requests: "m", "mL", "cm", "mm", "mg", "g", "sec", "bpm", "cm³", and "cm/s". (PACS-695)
- Updated the display of modalities under each port to sort alphabetically. (PACS-5428)
- Added support for storing and processing Structured Reports even when expected XML data is missing. Processing now continues when XML parsing fails, capturing and reporting errors without blocking ingestion. (PACS-5234)
- Added support for retaining the selected number of items displayed per page instead of reverting to the default. A total item count is now displayed on most pages that include an Items per page dropdown. This setting is stored locally on the workstation and is not associated with a specific user. (PACS-4778, PACS-5164)
- Added back support for the "Add new value" option in Multi Segment/Concatenate Custom Field dropdowns. This functionality was available in ModLink 3.0.3 and removed in ModLink 25.1. (PACS-4193)
- Updated the Change Database Credentials utility to support encrypted database connection string passwords in selectable configuration files. (PACS-5333, PACS-5278)
- Added support for multiplying and dividing Structured Report values by 1,000,000. (PACS-4866, PACS-751)
- Updated the installation process to handle already installed prerequisites without reporting failures. (PACS-4773)
- Updated template selection behavior so that selecting an item in the Template list highlights the corresponding Structured Report message. (PACS-5431)
- Added validation to prevent using "Local" as a domain server name when adding or editing domain servers. Previously, this value was accepted but was incompatible with the configuration and could lead to server issues. (PACS-4479)
- Added validation to prevent null formatting values when configuring custom field formatting, eliminating parsing errors. The formatting dialog now requires at least one parameter to be selected or allows users to cancel without saving. Additionally, double-click functionality has been implemented when formatting unique values, adding measurements or values to a template, and editing matching criteria values. (PACS-4698)
- Added support for deleting incorrectly received Structured Reports from port configurations. Previously, there was no clear way to remove an Structured Report entry once received, even if it was sent in error. Now, each Structured Report entry includes a delete icon, allowing it to be removed from the port configuration. (PACS-4502, PACS-5147)
- Added back support for the "Verify" function in Custom Fields to validate data from the associated PS360 system. This functionality was available in ModLink 3.x and removed in ModLink 25.x. (PACS-4861)
- Added a maintenance routine to clean up old data and prevent excessive disk usage. (PACS-5368)
- Added support for searching Structured Report and HL7 messages using partial values and wildcards for patient names. MRN and ACC searches still require exact matches. (PACS-4862)
- Updated database connection configuration to support integrated security and additional enterprise SQL connection settings. (PACS-1987)
- Updated the configuration storage model so that, when upgrading from ModLink 3.0 to ModLink 25.1 and later, configuration data is stored in the database instead of configuration files. As a result, port values are now managed within the database and are no longer part of the file structure. (PACS-4004)
- Added guidance for upgrades from ModLink 3.0 indicating that failed jobs will not be accessible after upgrading. Jobs in the failed queue must be resolved prior to performing the upgrade. (PACS-4323)
Updates
This release provides the following updates.
- Resolved an issue that could occur when adding a second MLWEB server to a remote database. (PACS-4232)
- Resolved an issue with handling Hologic modality data; support has been updated to correctly process data from version 5.6.1 rev 015. (PACS-9)
- Resolved an issue where Add to Template could not be selected when mapping measurements for specific Structured Reports. (PACS-5230)
- Resolved an issue preventing users from selecting “Add to Template” when mapping measurements for specific Structured Reports. (PACS-5230)
- Resolved an issue where HL7 messages were not received after an upgrade when legacy HL7 mappings contained invalid period (".") characters, resulting in processing errors. (PACS-5028)
- Resolved an issue allowing unsupported characters (such as '.') in HL7 port mappings, which caused errors. Input is now restricted to A–Z, 0–9, and commas. (PACS-5028)
- Resolved an issue where custom field formatting could be saved with no selected parameters, causing parsing errors. Previously, the formatting window allowed null values; now, at least one parameter must be selected, or the dialog must be canceled without saving. (PACS-4898)
- Resolved an issue where, when upgrading from ModLink 3.3, manually updated configuration files could result in "bad matching criteria" messages after upgrading. Previously, these scenarios produced errors; now, they are handled correctly during the upgrade process. (PACS-5396)
- Resolved an issue where, after upgrading from ModLink 3.0 to 25.1, searches by MRN or Accession Number could return no assigned templates or incorrectly process studies when the study description contained an "=" character. (PACS-5105, PACS-5423)
- Resolved an issue preventing the Select Modifier dialog box from being moved. (PACS-4908)
- Resolved an issue where only the first Structured Report’s measurements were forwarded when multiple Structured Reports were received for the same study. Measurements from all Structured Reports are now forwarded to PowerScribe VDS. (PACS-5190)
- Resolved an issue where audit and event logs did not record logoff events. (PACS-4343)
- Resolved an issue where exporting data could include incorrect or previously viewed Structured Reports. Exports now include only the selected data. (PACS-5427)
- Resolved an issue where installation prompts referenced incorrect product names; messages now correctly reference "ModLinkWeb." (PACS-4523)
- Resolved an issue where, in version 3.0, resubmitted Structured Reports with corrected MRNs could produce duplicate or inconsistent search results, with multiple entries referencing the same Structured Report. Now, subsequent Structured Report submissions overwrite the previous data, and only the most recent Structured Report data is returned in searches and forwarded to the VDS. (PACS-1340)
- Resolved an issue where, in ModLink 3.0, the "Export NOT Found" function could generate a blank file when no unverified Custom Fields were found. Previously, this behavior was unclear; now, the system detects when all fields are verified and displays a message instead of generating an empty file. (PACS-5253)
- Resolved an issue where the algorithm failed when encountering values that resolved to "not a number" (NaN). Previously, these values caused errors; now, the algorithm handles NaN values more gracefully. (PACS-3, PACS-5011)
- Resolved an issue where, in ModLink 3.0, a unique gestational age could not be captured from the Fetal Biometry container when using the HC, Hadlock 1984 modifier. Previously, this dataset was not processed correctly; now, it is handled as expected. (PACS-1728)
- Resolved an issue where, in ModLink 3.0.3, GE LogiqE10s device data was not handled correctly, preventing the Fetal BPP Structured Report from obtaining a unique gestational age. Previously, this dataset was not processed as expected; now, it is handled correctly. (PACS-1709)
- Updated installation behavior to set the MLW Service to Automatic (delayed start). (PACS-5007)
- Added support for reporting configuration issues during upgrades from ModLink 3.0.3. If issues are detected in configuration files or values, they are now recorded in an "issues.txt" file located in the \PACSgear\ModLinkWeb\Utilities\ModlinkUpgrade\logs\ folder. (PACS-5010, PACS-5093)
- Resolved an issue where the default filename generated by the Export Used function contained a typo. (PACS-5088)
- Resolved an issue where the installer did not retain previously used hostname or FQDN during upgrades. (PACS-4544)
