The IN_DB_UPGRADE package is a collection of integrated procedures and functions that manage the synchronization process and execute database schema changes for both uptime and downtime steps.

Prior to executing this script please review the upgrade and synchronization parameter default values below. These values are saved during execution of the IN_DB_UPGRADE_SP_UPGRADE_SETUP procedure and are used when populating the IN_DB_UPGRADE_CONTROL_UPGRADE and IN_DB_UPGRADE_CONTROL_SYNC tables. These default values are used by the various procedures unless otherwise specified during execution.

Please refer to the IN_DB_UPGRADE_SP_UPGRADE_SETUP section for more details.

Note: Make sure you are connected to the correct database and the v_database_name variable matches the database name you are upgrading.

To create the various database functions and stored procedures used to upgrade the INOW schema to version 7.9.0.0 or 7.7.0.0 or 7.5.0.0 from schema versions 7.1.3.3 through 7.7.0.0, complete one of the following options.

  • In SSMS, execute the following script.
    PerceptiveContentDB_Upgrade_Package_SQLServer_7900.sql
  • Using the sqlcmd utility, execute the following script.
    sqlcmd -I -i "PerceptiveContentDB_Upgrade_Package_SQLServer_7900.sql"
Note: You must establish your connection using the -l option to set the QUOTED IDENTIFIER connection option to ON. The default is OFF.

Example

set SQLCMDSERVER=[protocol:]server[\instance_name][,port]
set SQLCMDDBNAME=[DBNAME]
sqlcmd -I -i "PerceptiveContentDB_Upgrade_Package_SQLServer_7900.sql"
